 The UPSC has announced the  results of the written part of the CAPF (ACs) Examination, 2012 held by UPSC on 11th November, 2012.   The candidates with the under-mentioned Roll Numbers have qualified for Physical Standards Test / Physical Efficiency Test and Medical Standards Test.  The candidature of all the candidates whose Roll Numbers are shown in the list is Provisional, subject to their being found eligible in all respects.  The candidates will be required to produce the original certificates in support of their claims pertaining to age, educational qualifications, community etc. at the time of the Personality Test.  They are, therefore, advised to keep the said prescribed certificates ready.

2.        The Central Reserve Police Force (Nodal Authority nominated by Ministry of Home Affairs) will intimate the candidates about the date, time & venue of the Physical Standards Test/ Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Medical Standards Test, to be conducted by them.  In case, any candidate does not receive the call letter for Physical Standards Test/ Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Medical Standards Test (MST) by the 3rd week of April, 2013, he/she may contact the DIG(Recruitment) / Dy. Commandant(Recruitment),  Central Reserve Police Force on Telephone No. 011–24364884 Extn. 317, 226, 224  and e.mail i.d. –digrect.crpf@mail.nic.in.

3.       The candidates who have been declared qualified in the written examination are required to get themselves registered and  fill up the Detailed Application Form on-line through the Commission’s Website  http://www.upsc.gov.in.   Online Detailed Application  Form  will be  available on the Commission’s website from 15.04.2013.  A hard copy of the On-line filled Detailed Application Form, along-with relevant documents like proof of date of birth,  educational qualification, caste, Civilian Central Govt. Service employee, resident of
J & K etc. is to be submitted by the candidates to the CRPF authorities at the time of conduct of their PST/PET/MST who in turn would forward to the Commission, applications, along-with supporting documents & certificates, of those candidates who have either been declared fit or their appeal for review medical (on being declared unfit) have been accepted by the Appellate Authority in the CRPF.   The Commission would summon only those candidates for interview who, after clearing the PST and PET, have been declared  ‘FIT’  in the Medical Standards Test.

4.       Candidates are advised to intimate change in their address, if any, to the CRPF Authorities, Block 1,  CGO Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi-110003 and U.P.S.C. through letter or Fax immediately to facilitate delivery of communications to them promptly.

5.        The Mark-sheets of all candidates will be put on the Commission’s Website within 15 days from the date of publication of the final result (after conducting Personality Test) and shall remain available there for a period of 60 days.

OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: Model Recruitment Rules for the various categories of Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ posts in the Library Discipline.

The Model RRs for the various categories of Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ posts in the Library Discipline issued in this Department OM No. AB-14017/43/1991-Estt.(RR) dated 22.2.1993 have been reviewed in the light of 6th CPC recommendations on revision of pay scales, instructions issued by this Department, etc. Accordingly, the revised Model Recruitment Rules for the same are enclosed as Annexure to this Office Memorandum.

2. Ministries / Departments may review the existing rules and notify the revised rules conforming to the Model Recruitment Rules. These may also be forwarded to all autonomous / statutory bodies for adoption. The Ministry of Home Affairs is also requested to forward these Model RRs to the UT Administrations for appropriate action.

Modifications in Civil Services Examination, 2013 

The Government has approved the following modifications in the Civil Services Examination, 2013 notified on 5.3.2013: 

1. A candidate is allowed to use any one regional language from the 8th Schedule of the Constitution of India or English as the medium of writing the examination. 

2. Conditionality of a minimum of 25 candidates in that medium and the requirement to have that language as the medium of examination at graduation level has been dropped. 

3. Furthermore, a candidate is allowed to take up literature as his/her optional subject (to be chosen from a list of 23 literature subjects – 22 of the 8th Schedule languages and English) without the conditionality of having to do his/her graduation in that language’s literature. 

4. The English component (of 100 marks) from the Essay Paper has been dropped and 2 qualifying papers of 300 marks each in any Modern Indian Language(MIL) and in English have been restored. The Essay Paper is now of 250 marks to be written in the medium/language of candidate’s choice. 

Now, the Civil Services Main Examination 2013 will be as under: 

a. The candidates may write the examination in any one medium/language chosen from the languages listed in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution of India or English; 

b. Paper I and II will be of qualifying nature only– one in any MIL and another in English – of 300 marks each; 

c. Paper III will be the compulsory Essay Paper, with no English Comprehension test, to be written in the medium of candidate’s choice. The English component shall be dropped. Now this paper shall be of 250 marks. 

d. There will be 4 compulsory papers of General Studies of 250 marks each, namely, Paper-IV (Indian Heritage & Culture, History and Geography of the World and Society), Paper-V (Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International relations), Paper-VI (Technology, Economic Development, Bio Diversity, Environment, Security and Disaster Management) and Paper-VII (Ethics, Integrity and Aptitude). 

e. Paper VIII and IX: Candidates will have to take one optional subject with 2 papers of 250 marks each. This optional subject can be selected from a list of 25 core subjects and 23 literatures (literature of 22 languages in 8th Schedule of The Constitution of India and English). 

f. The personality test/interview will be of 275 marks.

The results of the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2011 were declared vide Press Note dated 04.05.2012 recommending 910 candidates in order of merit for appointment to IAS, IFS, IPS and Central Services Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ against 1001 vacancies.

The Commission, in accordance with the Rule 16 (4) & (5) of the Civil Services Examination Rules, was also maintaining a Consolidated Reserve List in order of merit below the last recommended candidate under the respective category.

As sought by the Department of Personnel & Training, the Commission has now recommended 89 candidates which include 74 General, 14 OBC and 01 SC, to fill up the remaining posts based on the Civil Services Examination, 2011. A list of these candidates is enclosed. The candidates so recommended will be communicated with directly by the DOP&T.

The candidature of one candidate bearing Roll No. 257387 is provisional.

www.upsc.gov.in.

Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2012- Results of the Written Examination Announced

The UPSC has announced the results of the candidates who have qualified for Personality Test for selection to the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service and other Central Services (Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’). The UPSC had conducted the written exam of the Civil Services(Main), 2012 in October last year.

            Personality Test of these candidates will commence from 4th March, 2013. Personality Tests will be held in the Office of the Union Public Service Commission at Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi-110069. The date and time of Personality Test is being intimated to the qualified candidates individually. It will also be displayed on the Commission’s Website http://www.upsc.gov.in. The candidates who do not receive communication regarding their Personality Test, should immediately contact the office of the Commission through letter or on Phone Nos. 011-23385271, 011-23381125, 011-23098543 or Fax No. 011-23387310, 011-23384472.

            The mark-sheets of candidates who have not qualified, will be put on the Commission’s Website within 15 days from the date of publication of the final result (after conducting Personality Test) and will remain available on the Website for a period of 60 days.
