Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2012- Results of the Written Examination Announced
The UPSC has announced the results of the candidates who have qualified for Personality Test for selection to the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service and other Central Services (Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’). The UPSC had conducted the written exam of the Civil Services(Main), 2012 in October last year.
Personality Test of these candidates will commence from 4th March, 2013. Personality Tests will be held in the Office of the Union Public Service Commission at Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi-110069. The date and time of Personality Test is being intimated to the qualified candidates individually. It will also be displayed on the Commission’s Website http://www.upsc.gov.in. The candidates who do not receive communication regarding their Personality Test, should immediately contact the office of the Commission through letter or on Phone Nos. 011-23385271, 011-23381125, 011-23098543 or Fax No. 011-23387310, 011-23384472.
The mark-sheets of candidates who have not qualified, will be put on the Commission’s Website within 15 days from the date of publication of the final result (after conducting Personality Test) and will remain available on the Website for a period of 60 days.

Postal Assistant examination syllabus and pattern Details Total Marks- 100 Total no. of Questions- 100 Time Duration- 2 Hours. Note: The body of written examination is separated into 4 parts: A, B, C and D. Each part allows you to score up to 25 marks for 25 questions individually. The exam is objective type exam with multiple choices for the questions. The subjects the questions will be from are English, Mathematics, General Knowledge, Reasoning and Analytical Ability. No negative marking will be done in the examination so; the candidate must attempt all the questions and maximize his chances even if the candidate is not sure about the correctness of the answers. General Knowledge (Part A): In this section the questions will be related to the Geography, Current Affairs, History, Latest Happenings, Events, Politics, environment, Sports, science up to GK level questions, about Indian constitution can also be asked. This section will consist of 25 questions. Mathematics (Part B): Under this section Numerical and Mathematical questions will come. Questions related to +2 standards like Average, Implication, Compound Interest, Decimals, Number system, Profit, Correlation etc. will be the part of this section. Mathematics (Part B) will also consist of 25 questions. English (Part C): Written English communication skills of the applicant are going to be judged in this section. Another 25 question of this part will cover Grammar, Synonyms/Antonyms, Prepositions, Active Passive Voice, tenses and vocabulary etc. Postal Assistant exam syllabus (Part D): In this part candidate’s logical reasoning and diagnostic thinking would be reviewed in 25 logical theories based questions. | |

POST OFFICE GUIDE PART-I The Post Office Guide Part I relates to Inland Post and the information required by the public. 2. POST OFFICE GUIDE PART-II Post office Guide part-II relates to Foreign Post. Mails and parcels , broad delivery standards are as follows : 2 days Inter metro ( Delhi, Mumbai,Kolkatta, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad.) Within city/ town / district. 3 days Inter State capitals, Within the State 3-5 days Inter State One to two days extra for registered, insured and money order delivery. Speed Post and Express Parcel Post are time bound; the standards will be specific to the location and time of booking. e-Post – one day transmission between post office from where e-post was booked to the nearest e-post centre and then the delivery standards for normal mail up to destination will apply. iMO instant transmission, payment on the spot when the receiver reaches the post office with 16 digit iMO number and photo identity. 3.
